On March 10, 2023, a significant milestone was reached when Ambassadors from Antigua and Barbuda and the Republic of Serbia signed an agreement in Washington, DC, to abolish visa requirements for their citizens. This move strengthens the Antigua and Barbuda passport internationally, as its citizens now have visa-free access to more than 162 nations, making it one of the strongest passports in the world.

Ambassador, Sir Ronald Sanders of Antigua and Barbuda and Ambassador Marko Djuric of the Republic of Serbia negotiated and signed the agreement. Ambassador Sanders said the agreement would increase investment and tourism in Antigua and Barbuda by facilitating travel for up to 90 days a year without a visa.

The agreement was called "another milestone in further enhancing the relationship and collaboration between Serbia and Antigua & Barbuda" by Ambassador Djuric. The two nations have already agreed to look at ways they might support one another, particularly by working together to address global concerns like the economic repercussions of Russia's conflict on Ukraine. Serbia offers scholarships to students from Antigua and Barbuda, and both nations are interested in pursuing further economic collaboration in the future.

The signing of this agreement is an exciting development that will benefit citizens of both Antigua and Barbuda and the Republic of Serbia. The two Ambassadors have agreed to meet regularly to explore deeper economic cooperation between the two states in the interests of their peoples.

In conclusion, the visa-free agreement between Antigua and Barbuda and the Republic of Serbia is a significant development that strengthens the Antigua and Barbuda passport internationally, enhances tourism and investment, and promotes closer cooperation between the two countries.
